About the Artist
Cara O'Connor Durnin is a self-taught fine artist from the south coast of Ireland.
Her art is inspired by classic works of literature and swashbuckling fantasy stories, tales of mythology and the folklore of the Irish countryside. The name “Sonnet and Fable” reflects her love of storytelling and her desire to brings these stories to life. She alternates between various different mediums, from traditional oil paints, to gouache and watercolor, to digital illustration, depending on the project.
Sonnet and Fable was born in 2012 and has seen many iterations of creative expression over the years. The small one-woman business has grown enormously into an independent brand that can be found in many independent gift shops, museums, and, of course, bookshops throughout Ireland and across the world.
Here you will find a rotating collection of fine art prints, bookmarks, and other seasonal paper goods. Each and every order is lovingly packed by hand in her small art studio in Cork, Ireland.
